13 Nov Osteo. Your ‘path to recovery.
Why you’ll wish you came to visit an Osteopath sooner…
You hobble to your appointment, wincing with every step as your body moans at you for not making the journey before now. Your problems will soon be over, you know, but you can’t help wondering what exactly the Osteopath is going to do to you.
It’s natural to be a little nervous about coming to your first appointment, but there really is no need to be. The moment you step through the door at Relinque Sports and Spinal Group, any fears will disappear.
The thing you’ll notice most on your first visit, is how much time we spend listening to you. As nice as it is to be heard, it actually serves a purpose. What we’re trying to do is learn as much as we can about you and your circumstances so that we can tailor treatment specifically for you. We want to clarify the goals you want to achieve so that we can make sure they are realistic and then help you to nail them!
During that first session, we’ll also explore your full medical history and conduct a bio mechanical assessment. What we’re looking for are movement patterns and joint restrictions. We want to understand the impact that your posture and muscle tone have on the way you move.
All the information we gather will be used to make a diagnosis and help us to form a view on the best treatment. At that point, the Osteopath will get ‘hands on’.
In your subsequent visits, we’ll focus on decreasing your pain by using various techniques to release tight muscles and ease your joints. We’ll also show you some exercises that you can do at home to help aid your recovery and bring you closer and closer to achieving your goals.
There really is nothing to fear from visiting an Osteopath at Relinque Sports and Spinal Group. To unlock your path to recovery, call us on 03 9499 9644.
